Résumé :

An hazel grouse’s population Bonasa bonasia located in a great wooded pasture of 400 ha is monitoring by biacoustic since 2002 in the swiss Jura mountains. Records and setting-up of sonagrams permit to recognize each male and to know movements and destiny of individuals. The population 2002-2008 is constituted by 21 males, but the cohort counted up 12 cocks at the beginning of the study (2002). The average 2002-2008 of annual survival rate of adult males was 80.55%. Consequently hope of living is high for adults ( > 4.3 years). Age pyramids established year by year shows a growing old population with few of new young birds. If the density of birds is high, home ranges are small (between 8 and 25 ha during the life (5 - 7 years) of followed males). But if the size of the population goes down, survival cocks extand theirmovements ; in this case home ranges are between 30 and 75 ha during the life of an adult (5 - 7 years). This enlargement could be signify a loss of social cohesiveness of the population, direct consequence of the fall of habitat’s quality.
